Limited records seem to indicate that my great-great grandmother, Margaret [Peggy] Ann Stewart Apple, the wife of Ridley McDonald Apple, Sr. was the daughter of a Hugh Stewart. Hugh Stewart receives a land grant in Tennessee in 1825 and Peggy and husband reside in Tennessee until their deaths. Hugh Stewart and two sons, Reece and John, disappear from Tennessee records by about 1850. Reece and John reappear near Lannius {?} in Fannin County, Texas by 1851.
