    1. Re: [STEWART] Stewart of Oklahoma
    2. I keep watching certain names pop up, but all the spellings are Stewart; my family was Steuart..from Scotland, to PA (worked in coal mines), moved west after 1855...(my great grandmother Kate was born in about 1852-53 in PA). There were several children in the family. John Steuart came to the US in about 1844 from Scotland. I understand he had brothers who may have come with him. A number of the family members have changed the spelling to Stewart. Granny Kate spent a lot of time with cousins in Oklahoma and was also very familiar with Texas. Is there a possibility some of your brick walls might have come from a name-spelling change? I have already found one of those with my Feild (yep, Feild..from England) where several lines HAVE changed it to Field. Also, as some came in their names were 'Americanized' because certain spellings were more common. Steuart would have been one of those. Donna..who has lost her passwords...and is also on hubby's laptop, 4 states from home...
