Just realized that I've got another photograph recovered from the same source that is of Nell GRIMES of Hiawatha, Kansas. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with Nell likely in her teens or 20's at the time it was taken. There is no studio or location identified on the photograph, just her name and hometown. Shelley -----Original Message----- From: Shelley Cardiel [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, May 07, 2011 9:44 AM To: '[email protected]' Subject: GOLD Family Photographs including GRIMES-STEWART Family member I've "rescued" a group of three photographs belonging to the GOLD Family of Kansas. The first is one of Frank GOLD'S home in Baker, Kansas. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with a group of 7 adults standing in front of the home. The second photograph is one of Frank GOLD, Carl MEYERS, Nell GRIMES, and Maud WILSON standing on a sidewalk together, though there is no photographer or location indicated. This photograph was also likely taken in the early 1900's with Frank appearing to be in his 20's or 30's and the others all teenagers. The third photograph is one of Pearl WEAVER and Anna GOLD, again no photographer or location indicated and likely taken in the 1890's or early 1900's. Pearl and Anna appear to be about 12-16 years old at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding those pictured in the photographs: Nellie Elizabeth GRIMES was b. 25 Jun 1883 in Hiawatha, KS to parents James T. GRIMES and Jane COX. Nellie married Robert Morris STEWART on 24 Dec 1903 or 1904 in Hiawatha, KS and died 23 Nov 1968. Maud WILSON was b. 1 Aug 1880 in Padona, KS to parents George Harrison or Harrison George WILSON and Mary Elizabeth WINSLOW. Pearl WEAVER was b. 21 Sept 1885 in Brown Co. KS to parents Edwin Elmore WEAVER and Anna DELILOK. Anna Jane GOLD was the daughter of Abraham GOLD and Helen LAWRIE. Anna married Joseph Thomas YATES and together they had a son James YATES b. 13 Nov 1919 in Tonganoxie, KS.
