There is a lady in Tuscaloosa who traces her ancestry back through ELAM and MEIGS to a James MEIGS b1824 mar Nancy Ann TERRY b. 1818, and back to James TERRY mar Susanna CLEMENTS, and Susanna back to Zepheniah CLEMENTS (SC). Wednesday, November 29, 1939 The Halifax Chronicle, Halifax, N.S. MRS. JOHN STEWART PICTOU, Nov. 28 Word has been received here of the death at West Vancouver, B.C., on Friday, November 10, of Mary Annabell Stewart, wife of John Stewart, of 1279 Gordon Avenue. Mrs. Stewart was born fifty years ago at Three Brooks, Pictou county, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald Grant, and had lived in West Vancouver for the past 27 years. She was one of the oldest and best loved resident of that place, and she leaves many friends. Besides her husband, Mrs. Stewart is survived by one son, P. Clayton, at home; two brothers, John Grant, West Vancouver, and William D. Grant, Three Brooks, and two half-brothers, Roderick Grant, Caribou River, Pictou county, and Alexander H. Grant, Pictou. The funeral was held the following Monday from the Hollyburn Funeral Home, West Vancouver, with Rev. William Vance officating. Interment took place at Capilano View cemetery. [Three Brooks, Pictou County, NS - located NW of Pictou, midway to Caribou River on Rte 6]

John G. White b.1840 in England married Emily J. Elledge b. 1840, Pike Co., Illinois. Moved from Illinois to San Antonio, Vernon and Florence Rd. district of LA township, LA county between 1875-1880. Family stayed in area at least until 1930s. Daughter Minnie married William Ross and they remained in the LA twonship area. Another daughter of John and Emily was Florence who married Harry N. Stewart and they remained in the area. Harry Stewart was a streetcar conductor in LA. A son, Norman White married Mable (unknown last name) and they also lived in the area. Norman was a Dye maker. A son, Samuel H.(known as Harry) White appears on the 1910 census for LA township, LA county. He is living in the Jones household as a lodger, 35 years old, single and occupation is laborer. I am related to this family through Emily J. Elledge. Emily was a grandniece of Daniel Boone. Her great grandfather, Edward Boone was a brother of the famous Daniel Boone and was killed by Indians while on a hunting trip with Daniel in 1781. Widow Of Late Judge Murray Passes Older residents of this city will lean with regret the news of the death of Mrs. Laura Isobel Dodd, widow of the late Judge Murray Dodd, which occurred in Halifax yesterday. She was in her 84th year and her passing followed a general illness. Her late husband was County Court Judge here for many years and he was a member of one of Sydney's oldest and best known families. His father was the Honorable Justice Edmund Dodd of the Supreme Court. Funeral Wednesday The remains of Mrs. Dodd will arrive in Sydney on Wednesday morning and will repose at the Brookland Street Presbyterian Church where funeral service will be held at 2:30 o'clock in the afternoon, and interment in Hardwood Hill cemetery. Surviving Relatives The late Mrs. Dodd is survived by a number of nieces as follows; Mrs. J.J. Daly, in Calgary; Miss F.M. Dodd, R.N. this city; Miss Lena Johnstone, of Halifax, and now in this city; Murray and Edmund Johnstone, and Lewis Johnstone of Toronto, grandnephews, and grandnieces are: Mrs. J.H. We don't know very much about her and would like to find out about her also. We know that they both were born in GA possiable Stewart Co. We know that he was a pvt during the Civil War under the name of Jackson Stewart and was in Hillard's Leagions as a sharp shooter. We have records that he was killed at Bean Station during the end of the war but we do not know where he is buried. When he went to war we know that they lived in Dadeville, Al and ggggrandma Rena is buried at Union Church near Dadeville. She maybe related to either or both the Batchelors or the Goldens.

He was a member of St. Lawrence Church, Mulgrave, an inventory controller for Stora Forest Industries and a member of local 972 of the Canadian Paper Workers Union. He was an avid ball player. He is survived by his stepfather, Gordon McCall; his wife, the former Agnes Armstrong; a daughter, Jennifer, at home; four sisters, Yvonne (Mrs. Robert Filipek), Phoenix, Ariz.; Joyce (Mrs. Rudy Amirault), Riverview, N.B.; Mrs. Isabel Halfpenny, Melford; Glenda (Mrs. Joseph Fenech), Oakville, Ont.; four brothers, Bill, Port Hawkesbury; Neil, Mulgrave; Russell, Halifax; Doug, Havre Boucher. Born in Massachusetts, she was the former Catherine Louise MacDonald, a daughter of Alexander and Mary (Chisholm) MacDonald. Surviving besides her husband, Joseph are six sons, Sheldon, Ottawa; John, Hamilton; Arthur, Linwood; Angus, James and Martin, all of Harve Boucher; two daughters, Mrs. Emily Cormier, Halifax; Adrianna (Mrs. Thomas Linkletter), Hamilton, Ont., 16 grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Mabel (Mrs. Arthur Brosha) Heatherton. The remains are resting at MacIsaac's Funeral Home, Antigonish. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, 10 a.m. St. Paul's Church Havre Boucher. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
