Their daughter Jennie Sweet Inman was my G Grandmother. I recently received Jennie's original marriage cert. from June 8, 1887. Along with that, was a very old document that gave Lucinda's parents as Alonzo Stewart b. Sept. 18, 1818 d. Jan. 30,1863. Lucy Tracy b. May 22,1827 d. Dec. 23,1891. They were married on July 8,1843. It also lists the names and birthdates of all 12 of Myron and Lucinda's children. It has a few marriage dates, and death dates from some of those children. You probably already have this info, but thought I'd share it, just in case you didn't. I would like to have a copy of Myron and Lucinda's obits, and their marriage cert. If you could e-mail them to me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, Kathy

    3. I am looking for the connections to my great grandfather. His given name was Meredith Leonard Stuart/Stuart. He was born October 10 1858. Possibly in Iuka Mississippi. His father was listed as Andrew Jackson Stuart but no name for his mother. Meredith had a sister. Her name was been listed as Susan Adeline/Adelaide Stuart but also Just Adeline Stuart. She was born approximately 1854, place unknown but it was rumored in Atlanta Georgia Other names was John Stuart but I don't know if this was a sibling, uncle or who for sure and that he may have lived in Oklahoma. It was said that Meredith and his sister were separated from their parents and they stayed with people named McCullough. These people gave Meredith his nickname of Charley which he used the rest of his life Incidently, Susan Stuart went on to be a famous aerialist under the name first Zoe and then Leona Dare. Meredith worked as an acrobat with Susans husband Thomas Hall under the name of The Hall Brothers and the Brothers Dare. Thanks Chris Fox

    3. Sherry, have you exhausted the census possibilities? Now that we can get up to 1930 with every name indexes, you might be able to track the children even though their mother remarried. Once you have a firm take on the town, I have found that searching using only first names, an approximate date of birth, and the town can sometimes solve a riddle. It might mean sorting through lots of names, but sometimes it's worth it. Especially for names like Alden, Russ, etc. And I usually make use of Ancestry's trick of putting in only the first three letters of a name with a * -- it can help weed through misspellings. 3. Do you have any info on the grandchildren of your Daniel Stewart? My Stewart brick wall is Joseph Stewart, born about 1818 in PA. He married Margaret Jane Nelson on 15 Nov 1842 in Perry County, PA. The marriage record lists him as 'Mr Steward of Juniata'. She was the daughter of James Nelson and Martha McGowan. I have additional info on their descendants. 1. Re: [STEWART] James Stewart
    2. For what it's worth, your Joseph sounds a bit like the Joseph Stewart from what I call the Samuel/Hugh Stewart line. This seems to be a huge line of Stewarts that I've been pondering for years. Here's a few of the key players: Samuel Stewart - b. about 1698 'Near Glasgow' Scotland died about 1770 in Lancaster co, PA -- had a brother named Hugh; lots of kids m. Mary McClay (in Ireland?) Children: John Stewart Samuel Stewart - b. abt 1735 (in Ireland?) Mary B. Stewart b. in PA Joseph Stewart - b. in PA Anthony Stewart (5 other children) In the 1790-1810 era, a number of members of this line moved into IN and KY. I've never found confirmed details of the above Joseph, not even his wife's name, but it does not appear that he died in PA. Since Joseph seems to be a far less common name among the Stewarts I've researched, I think there's a fair chance that he is your guy. Don't worry about the geography -- I've seen a lot of misleading information that was simply guesswork, and some location data that only reflects a temporary situation. In the line I've described above, they are Scottish Stewarts some of whom lived in Ireland for about 20 years for political reasons. Well, I hope this helps. Please let me know what you have about your Joseph Stewart. I've long suspected that my Stewarts are connected to the Samuel/Hugh line; still hoping one of the living male Stewarts (there should be at least 80) from this line will participate in the DNA project, but that's another story. Hope to hear from you soon.
