Once again trying to find a connection. My Stewarts: Jannette Forsyth Stewart b. 1655 Scotland emigrated with her two sons John b. 1682 and my line--Robert b. 1684 Edinburgh, Scotland d. unk prob. I would like to share with anyone who might be researching this line from Robert 1684 or his brother John b. 1682. Perhaps we can find who Hannah was. I have no other information except the tombstone that gives her first name and her death date estimated from a vital statistic document from Montpelier, Vt. that gives her age at death. We have some false clues of her surname being either Rollins or Delano. Neither have turned up any Hannahs in the right time frame. Hannah and Simpson had eleven children, born in Amherst and Jaffrey, NH. Their names being: John, Simpson, jr., Hannah, Ephraim Holt who died young, William, a second Ephraim Holt, Elizabeth or Betsy, Luther,Sarah, Mary and Terzah, who might've been born in Berlin, VT. Any clues would be appreciated. Nora Stewart Yahl in St. Louis, MO

She was born abt. 1831 and d. 1918 in Illinois. I do not know if they had any children. She is mentioned in 1908 obituary of her brother Henry (my husband's 2x gr grandfather) as residing in Wellington, Illinois. I've had no luck searching census records, etc. Her parents were John and Catherine Landis Reed. Would appreciate any assistance and would share info on her siblings, parents, etc.
Karen, Am extremely7 interested in following up with you on the relationship of Malissa Stewart Hawkins to John Steewart of Dooly Co., GA. I firmly believe she is the seventh of his apparent thirteen children. We have only identified the last six positively and have nothing on the first six. I believe that I had just confirmed the identity of child eight when we were corresponding. This would be Malissa's sister and she had a daughter Malissa. This family moved to Barbour Co., AL, then Lincoln and Union Parishes, LA along with the three other siblings and their families (James, Saran Ann, and Eli [my grandfather and Walter "Dub" Stewart's gggrandfather]). Incidentally, we now have very near positive proof of our connection to John Stewart, Sr. (about 1740 - 1818), Darlindton, SC. Three of us, each from a separate son (John, Jr., Charles, and Elias) have had DNA tests that match 25/25. Am currently on the road in Orlando, FL. Will be back in touch when I get home. Incidentally, Dub, have been correspondiong with Donna Sutton on her Stewart line. Np conclusions yet, but a numberr of coincidental events mae the exploration very interesting. This line appears to be similar to the one that James Stewart of the Woodlands is working on. His line goes back to a John Stewart born abt. 1740 of Darlington, SC and before that Dobbs County, NC. A grandson of his John Stewart named John died in Dooly County, GA in 1840 and a son of this John named Eli born April 1838 in Dooly County, GA. and lived in and married Jane Warren in 1858 and entered the war for the Confederacy in Barbour County, AL before moving to Webster County, MS in the early to mid 1870's and then to Jackson Parish, LA by 1879 . There was also a Shadrack Stewart son of John Stewart, Jr., 1776, of Dobbs County, NC. This Shadrack was a grandson of the older John Stewart born abt. 1740 that lived in Dobbs County, NC and died in Darlington County SC in 1818

Where does this line originate? And what were the earliest known emmigration patterns? My line of Stewarts (Joseph 1750-1823 Brown County, OH) had associations with Sheltons across the river from Mason County, KY. Is there any linkage to the line you are discussing? Stewart Brown

I am interested in finding information about Gertrude Stewart that lived in PA. She was an educator of the mentally ill and opened a school, the Stewart School, Swarthmore, PA , in 1928 and continued until 1972. There is now a private non-profit organization with a Foundation in her name. Any information on Gertrude would be appreciated. Pictures would also be welcome. We believe that she had a big part in the education of one of our WREN family members. Thank you, Jenny WREN
