    3. Sunday, 06 Nov 2005 Ladysmith Chronicle Ladysmith, BC STEWART, Eirlys Eirlys Stewart passed away peacefully on November 6, 2005. Born in Llanidloes, Wales in 1919 she was pre-deceased by her husband Ronald in 1968 and her three brothers and one sister. She is survived by her son Christopher Stewart, daughter-in-law Prapri, granddaughter Jennifer and grandson Dylan in Calgary; and daughter Caroline (Kennerd), son-in-law Trevor and grandsons Luke, Jake and Cody in Winnipeg. Also surviving is her niece Rhiannon Roberts and her family in Wales. Eirlys trained and practiced as a registered nurse and was an officer in the RAMC during the Second World War. After immigrating to Canada in 1952 she ran Stewart's Rest Home in Edmonton for many years and later worked for both Woodward's and The Bay. Her children were very active in Highland Dancing and the Edmonton Boys Pipe Band while growing up and Eirlys was a tireless volunteer for both organizations. She retired to Ladysmith on Vancouver Island and spent over 20 happy years there with many close friends. Eirlys brought joy and love to all those she met and had a wonderfully positive attitude towards life. She was blessed with very good health and a wealth of loving friends and family. A memorial service will be held Saturday November 19, 2005, 2:00 p.m. at the Connelly McKinley Sherwood Park-Millwoods Chapel, 4820 Meridian St., Edmonton, Alberta (just off of hwy. 14 East). In lieu of flowers, donations in Eirlys' memory can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

I don't have more than the census on them, yet, but one of Charles' brothers was living with his aunt Sarah J. Rule, unmarried, in 1910 & 1920. in 1900, Margaret Stewart, Charles' mother, has a sister living with her - Sarah Rule, again unmarried. I suppose it is possible that Sarah was a half sister, and that Margaret's maiden name was something other than Rule, but I will keep it that way for the time being.

    3. Okay let us try this direction on my Stewart line, starting a little later in time! William Henry Harrison Carpenter the son of Mary Ann Stewart bn 1800 PA, daughter of James Stewart and Mary FEAZEL. William Henry moved from Holmes Co., Ohio with other members of Stewart family, to Wayne Co, IA. Then for some unknown reason they moved North to McDonough Co., Ill. There they had children; otherwise I would not have found them on US census. Hope that helps someone, Bev
