Author: jbrown5131 Surnames: Stewart, Coalscott Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.stewart/10014/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am looking for information about Rebecca Stewart. Most census records state she was born in Ohio about 1818. I need to find her parents. She married Harrison Coalscott in Franklin County, Indiana 15 August 1844. Harrison and Rebecca were living in Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa in 1854 and 1856 according to Iowa State Census records. They were in Junction City, Davis County, Kansas in 1860. I haven't been able to find census records for them in 1850 or 1870. In 1871, daughter Emma married James Madison Brown in Howard County, Kansas at her father's home. In the Kansas State Census for 1875 they were living in Salt Springs, Greenwood County, Kansas. Harrison Coalscott is buried in Elk Falls, Elk, Kansas- no dates on his headstone. I can't find them in 1880 Census records. In 1846, a son David was born in Ohio. In 1851 a daughter Harriet was born in Ohio, probably in Cincinnati. In 1852, a daughter Emma was born in Quincy, Illinois. In 1855, a daughter Edith was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Two daughters, Frances and Hester were born in Iowa in 1857 and 1859. In 1844 Harrison Coalscott bought and sold land in Crawford County, Illinois. Any help would be appreciated, Jolene Brown Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. McCartney came to America in the late 1880s with 3 of his children. Margaret, Robert & Alexander and lived in Newport, Ri with my great grandmother (Margaret) and her husband, my great grandfather, James Jestings. He was a widow at the time. I did not know he had any other children but from your post, it seems the daughter Nancy you are referring to must clearly be from that family. McCartney and his 3 children are buried in Newport, RI. I have the photos of their markers. Please email me at AprilLynnWallace@att.net for more information on the American side of the story and also I would be so indebted if someone would contact me with ANY information on his ancestors from Londonderry/Belfast. My GG-Grandfather in Winston/Neshoba Counties, Mississippi is my dead end. Researchers of this family have them in Perthshire, Scotland before moving to Ulster, Ireland. If you find that you have lost one in AL or MS prior to 1850 let me know! I will research him to see if I can tie to him. Lauren: I subscribe to the digest version with an AOL address using Thunderbird. I have not experienced any problems that I know of, but I subscribe to over a dozen lists. There continues to be activity on many of them. I have noticed some messages that appear to be hijacked addresses delivering links to spam websites on 3 or 4 within the last week. It seems as though the PA County lists are prone?? Yours in successful researching, Scott A. James Stewarts (and Riley's) in NJ and Westmoreland County, PA 1755 - 1800's
This happened to me. I clicked on delete because it was a Stewart that I was not researching but it went to spam instead. I did not click on the spam button but instead the delete button but it treated it like I clicked the spam button. Weird. I hate AOL but put up with it because so many people have that address for me and I hate to start over but if it keeps up I will have to switch. ---Marie Bull In a message dated 5/4/2014 6:27:37 P.M.
