Dew may be short for Drew or Duncan (son named Duncan S. goes by Duey). 1830 ..Montgomery Co., AL. 1840...Lowndes Co., AL. 1850...Rankin Co., MS 1860...Ashley Co., AR. Most children moved to Union Parish LA. by 1870 and then Anderson Co., TX. by 1880. I think Dew Stephens is related to same line as that of Sarah Stevens who married Ransom MEADOWS .
