B 9. Mrs. Stevens is not a relative of the writer. Mrs. Stevens died of pneumonia on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 in Delaware. She was born December 25, 1907 in Staunton, VA, to the late Lieutenant William W. Dick & Marguerite (Buist) Dick. She was raised and educated at varioius military posts around the world. She married Lieiutenant Francis Robert Stevens on July 20, 1927 at Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX. He was killed in combat during World War II, and Mrs. Stevens settled in Washington, D.C., where she headed a special task force for the U.S. House of Representatives. After the war, she joined the newly forming Central Intelligence Agency where she worked for 30 years. She resided at the Westchester Apartments in Washington, D.C. and later moved to Rehoboth Beach, DE where she resided at the Brandywine Assisted Living Facility. Mrs. Stevens is survived by her daughter, Marguerite Bordwell, and her son, Francis Robert Stevens, Jr.; eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 28, at 9 a.m. in the Ft. Myer Chapel at Arlington National Cemetery, where she is to be buried.
