Stevens in Blue Earth on Feb 16, 1884. The 1880 census of Leroy, Blue Earth MN shows a Frank Stevens 19 born in WI, the son of Sophia , 45, born NY and her daughter May L 10 b WI. This Frank Stevens also indicates his parents were BOTH born in NY, so that matches the 1900 and 1910 census I saw showing Ella's husband's parents both born in NY. I don't know what became of Ella's sister, Francis...if she married or died young, but she is not in her parent's 1880 household...though she would have been 19 and certainly old enough to have married. I did marriage search for her on Familysearch.com though and none appeared, while Ella's came up immediately. It's more than likely that if her sister, Francis, married, she did so in Blue Earth. Otherwise, there may be a death record for her depending on how early the county started death records. You might check with the county gen. society and see if they have tombstone records in Blue Earth County that might show Francis in a family burial ground along with her parents or grandparents. Her grandfather was Levi Sr. and mother was Francis...both born in VT before 1800. Obviously, the girl, Francis b about 1861 was named after her paternal grandmother. I'm not related to these people...just found it an interesting brain exercise this morning. Good luck, Julie There was another Francis Stevens in the same county in 1870, however, though this kid was born in WI, his parents were born in Ohio and NY. His father was W. L. Stevens b Ohio and mother was an Elsia born NY. So, it is the son of Sophia, Frank Stevens, who is the most likely candidate to be the husband of Ella Stevens.
