It is suspected that Elisha Stevens b. 1729, moved his family south from Stamford, CT. Josiah Stevens raised his family in SC, and most of them spent their entire lives there. I am currently up against a substantial brick wall, trying to find information on Elihu Stevens b. 1810, who was the father of John Marion Stevens b. 1845 (and others). This seems to be a period of time, when no documentation survived. Elihu's father was Abraham Stevens, b. 1775 in Edgefield, and moved to Putnam Co., GA. Abraham's father was Elisha Stevens b. 1750, I don't know know where. I know his father, Josiah, was born in Bertie Co., NC. If anyone has any informatio on this Stevens group, I would be very glad to hear from you.
