On the internet, somebody named Mark Stevens attached our Thomas Stevens (1813 ,H, IN - 1890 ,Madison, IA) to Benjamin & Nancy ARNOLD STEVENS, but Jon Fair, a person who is descended from Benjamin & Nancy says "no way". To me it seems likely to be Benjamin, if Benjamin is related to Wilford STEPHENS (1831). But, on the other hand, Thomas (son of James STEVENS 1745 - 1822) & Dorcas DORR STEVENS lived next to George GRANT & that's the father of Amelia GRANT, who my Thomas married in 1832. The book, "The Stevens / Stephens of Harrison County Indiana" is no help because Thomas & Amelia left ,Harrison County in 1836 and no children are recorded for them (between 1832 - 1836), and he probably never owned land in Harrison. The book "Descendents of William GRANT" is no help because they record that probably Amelia married Thomas Stevens & died shortly thereafter in Harrison County. Well, I have found their graves in King Cemetery, St Charles, Madison, IA (which was their farm when they were buried there.) So, I decided to help other people in Harrison County and perhaps some day, somebody will find a bible record or church record or journal that names the parents of my "Thomas STEVENS 1813 ,Harrison, IN". Thomas & Emily's (Amelia) oldest daughter, Argula / Arvilla (or 5 other spellings) was born 1836 ,Harrison, IN (and then they moved away). Their oldest son was Wilford STEVENS and he lived 1839 ,McDonough, IL - 1912 Joplin, Jasper, MO. The name Wilford STEVENS is quite rare & 3 of them are connected to Harrison County, IN. One was born, married & died in Boone Twp, Harrison, IN. Another was born there & moved directly to Joplin, MO and died somewhere not yet identified and the third is my great grandfather, the son of Thomas STEVENS. I am very confused, I need a nap now. :-) Always, David STEVENS
