I just don't see a connection. From another line, probably related to mine, there is a William J. Stephens, b. 1848 in Moniteau Co., Mo, d. 1910 in Cole Co., MO; m. Mary Isabella McClure 1867 in Miller Co., MO. Everyone seemed to move around a lot even then. I don't see the name Austin in that line either. Sorry.
