However it is my understanding that Elizabeth (or Elisabeth) Brackley Pressey married Stanford Crowell and he did die at Ship Island but they did not have a son but did have a daughter, Julia F. Crowell who was born in 1857. Elizabeth then married Daniel Stevens and they had a son named Fred. Daniel Stevens and Elizabeth raised Julia together with their son Fred. Julia Crowell (many in family thought her name was Julia Stevens) later married George Franklin Jones and they had a son whom Julia named Lindsey Stanford Jones (named for Julia's father, Stanford Crowell and Elizabeth Pressey's mother's maiden name, Lindsey) If you have some reason to verify that Fred was Elizabeth and Stanford's son please let me know.
