What was written by Huntington, was that Thomas was a landholder as early as 1641. I've never seen anything that said he moved there then. If so, I would dearly like to know where he moved FROM. There was a John Stevens who lived in Stamford from a much earlier date, and it is speculated that John may be a relation, even a father to Thomas. The James and Thomas you mention, are not part of my family, they are part of the family of John Stevens, b.1682 in England. If there is a connection to my family, I am not aware of it. It would be very interesting if you did take part in the dna study to find out if we are a genetic match. I'd also like to point out that www.SMGF.org does dna testing for free. My family website is stevensfamilytree.ca. You'll see all I know about my family there. Barb Stevens Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
