I use Family Tree Maker 2006 . Version 11 of this program did delete names time to time, so I tried Legacy, Family Tree Legends, PAF, and came back to Family Tree Maker when they got a new software handler. Vr. 2008 will be out soon. It is supposed to completely overhauled. If I had to do it again, I'd probably use Legacy. Sometimes, I also think the name dropping happens during, after, or between , when introducing in a new gedcom. And it can happen during an power outage.
