There were three John Stevens (Stephens) who died early (between 1813-1824)in Caldwell County. A John Stephens died in 1813 without a will and Elijah Stephens was the Administrator of his estate. An Inventory for a John Stevens on Nov. 22, 1815 in Caldwell County and it mentions Elizabeth Stevens (possibly John's wife) and Sallie and Jesse Stevens are also mentioned. A John Stevens will dated Feb. 29, 1824 and recorded Aug. 16, 1824. Polly Stevens (widow of son Moses Stevens). After decease of Polly Gr. children to have property. I don't have copies of the original estate papers of the first John Stephens where Elijah Stephens is the Administrator, but I do plan on getting them sometime in the near future. I believe this John was Elijah's father and the John Stevens who died in 1815 was possibly Elijah's brother. Elijah's grandson and my 2nd great grandfather Robert Criswell Stevens was a physician. One of Elijah's son's, I think it was Harrington Stevens (your Littleton's brother), was also a physician. I live in Michigan, my father was born in Caldwell County, Kentucky and moved to Michigan after he graduated high school.
