    3. Hello all, I have researched my husband's Stevens line and am at a brick wall. Let me outline his family tree for you. Charles Dillon Stevens b. abt 1852 St. Louis, MO, m. Lena Tarrant Charles Whittlesey Stevens b. abt 1817 Pompey, NY, m. Susan Dillon Hezekiah Stevens b. 1793 in CT (pretty sure in Killingworth but no proof yet), m. Lois Field (not sure where Lois was born, but she came from Jericho, VT prior to residing in Pompey, NY). Jonas Stevens b. 1740/1741 Killingworth, CT, m. Hester Whittlesey b. 1749 Saybrook, CT Elnathan Stevens b. 1703 Killingworth, CT Josiah Stevens b. abt 1670 William Stevens b. abt 1630 England My brick wall is that I've not been able to find documentation for a few very important details. I have traced Charles Whittlesey Stevens to Pompey, NY where he was born. He was a prominent doctor in St. Louis and a Professor of Anatomy at the medical college there. The college has a archives department and from there I found out that he had been born in Pompey. In doing more research I found out that his father was Hezekiah Stevens and that his mother was Lois Field. I also found that he had two brothers that were named Richard F. Stevens and William H. Stevens. Their father, Hezekiah and his brother Henry, moved from Connecticut to Pompey, NY to open a cabinetry shop. This information is from a writing that was done by either Charles or one of his brothers in the early to mid 1870's and preserved in a published book. Henry Stevens later moved to Fabius, NY where he is buried there with their mother Hester Whittlesey Stevens and his wife Phena Jerome. Henry having moved to Fabius and marrying Phena Jerome is also mentioned in the book, so I am quite certain that Hezekiah and Henry are brothers - and that Jonas and Hester are their parents. P.S. Hester had a father and a brother named Hezekiah. I have found some documentation that Jonas had a son named Henry in 1795, but have found NO documentation that Jonas had a son named Hezekiah. Also, I have found NO documentation that Jonas and Hester were married. But I am very certain that the two did marry and that Hezekiah and Henry are late children for them (Jonas and Hester had to have married at some point in the 1770's). I have found ONE record where Hester Whittlesey had married a Stevens, first name unknown... but that was a couple of years ago and I did not keep track of where I found that record. I suppose what I'm asking for is if anyone out there knows or can find a mention of Hester Whittlesey marrying Jonas Stevens and also a document showing the birth of Hezekiah Stevens. I look forward to hearing back from any Stevens researchers who have any knowledge of this line or are just interested in knowing more. Best Regards, Sharla Stevens
