    3. Hi Val, That's the $64 question. I do have a marriage certificate which shows Stephen James Stevens father to be of the same name and a soldier - but spelt Stephen James Stevings. But that is all. Stephen James Stevens on the 1861 and 1871 Census indicates he was born in the area of Maidstone Kent c1835 ie before registration. Does this help ? With best wishes from sunny Queensland ............ 3. I really do not have much information at all about the Stephens /Stevens, except that my Grandfather on my Dad's side of the family was named "Edward George Stevens" married to Lucy Mae Johnson. She had been married several times before, so I am not sure at this moment what her last name was at the time of her marriage to Edward George, it could have been Randall. Edward George was born in Missouri 1871, and died July 8, 1927 I have a death certificate for him, from Mongumery Co. Independence Kansas information given by my grandmother Lucy Mae. His parents were William Andrew Stephens / Stevens, and Mary Tull. I belive that he was the first to change the spelling of the name. They had 6 children from that marriage. (1) Henry born 1869 in Kansas (2) Edward George 1870 in Mo (my grandfather) (3) Mary born on 1873 Mo. (4) Charles 1877 in Kansas (5) Belle 1879 (6) Peter birth unknown Andrew was born 1847 His death certificate information was given by my Grandfather, so we believe that William Andrew must have lived with Edward George after his wife Mary Tull passed away. He said that William Andrew was from Ireland, also Andrew had a brother named Robert A. and a sister named Sarah L. Stephens I have here that Sarah L Stephens was born 1855 in Platte Co. Mo. and married a man named Jones. Andrews parents were believed to be Joseph Stephens and Isabelle Stephens from Ireland. Please if you have any information about anyone of these people, write to me please from your address, so that I can respond directly to you:)) My address is "sunshinesjoy1@webtv.net" And put in the topic line :To Sunny Stevens, that way I wil know what is it about:)) Thank you very much Sunny

Cely was listed on the 1870 Census with the State of Mississippi, as her birth state. She married a Mr. Andrew Desmuke (also born in MS) and they married in the State of Texas. She has been listed with various spellings of her name since the initial find of her, the spellings, have been Cely, Celia, Celie, Sealy, Seeley, Seely, and Zellia(this one is on the 1930 Census in Gonzales County, Texas with her four Desmuke Grandchildren and she was listed at 89 years of age). I would like to learn of her Family Lineage as well as that of Andrew Desmuke, who was forty years old in 1870, where they both were born in the State of Mississippi, and I am told that Cely lived to be 105 years old, but I can not find her death certificate or burial information.
