As I remember from some earlier correspondence with a Stevens family member I was told that Elizabeth and Stanford did indeed have a son named Fred and after Stanford's death Elizabeth married Daniel Stevens. Later on she and Daniel Stevens had a son together and they named him Fred also. That was what the Stevens person told me who was a descendent from that Fred Stevens. Glad you jogged my memory. Don't have my notes at hand right now so I goofed. Thanks for the update. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. However it is my understanding that Elizabeth (or Elisabeth) Brackley Pressey married Stanford Crowell and he did die at Ship Island but they did not have a son but did have a daughter, Julia F. Crowell who was born in 1857. Elizabeth then married Daniel Stevens and they had a son named Fred. Daniel Stevens and Elizabeth raised Julia together with their son Fred. Julia Crowell (many in family thought her name was Julia Stevens) later married George Franklin Jones and they had a son whom Julia named Lindsey Stanford Jones (named for Julia's father, Stanford Crowell and Elizabeth Pressey's mother's maiden name, Lindsey) If you have some reason to verify that Fred was Elizabeth and Stanford's son please let me know. Julia and Fred were raised together and Julia was the oldest. I do thank you for your reply again. Janice Jones Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Frank Stevens was born in Kea, Truro, Cornwall, England 25 March 1850. He arrived in South Africa around 1880 after working in Australia. I know that he married Kate Esther Rose Green 14 December 1887. She was the daughter of Thomas Morton Green. Kate and Frank had 6 children - 3 girls and 3 boys. Does anybody have any further information on this couple and their family? My nieces are descended from Thomas Morton Green and I would like to know more about the family! If anybody could help that would be great! Many thanks, Dominic Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
