Does anyone have access to copies of a will or Bible record for Caleb and/or Margaret Stevens that lists all of their children? Does anyone know if a child named John could have been left off the lists I have found posted, or if they had a grandson, John, who was in Lenoir or Mecklenburg Counties in North Carolina in the late 1700's to early 1800's? Does anyone have any records that they know for sure refer to their son, Emanuel? Thank you for your help. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I found records which you may have already have showing Wylie Stevens married Nancy Jane Searcey in Tipton Co., TN on 03 Jun 1855. There is also a record of a Wiley Stevens of Tipton Co., TN marrying a Sarah Wiseman on 21 Mar 1865. Folks, this is a reminder that any post to a list that starts with the phrase "This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list." has been "gatewayed" from the surname Board to the surname List. Simply, this means that the original post was sent, in this case, to the STEVENS Board and, because the "gateway" between the Board and List has been opened, was also automatically re-sent to the STEVENS List. BUT, this means that unless the original Board poster is also a member of the List (and most are not), any replies to a gatewayed post sent to the List will NOT be seen by the Board poster. If you wish to reply to a gatewayed post in such a way that your reply will be seen by the Board poster, you must do so by clicking on the "Message Board URL:" link, and reply using the Board response system. What was going on in 1880 to attract the Stevens from Ohio to Kansas? My Levi A. Stevens born in Cincinnati left Ohio and was found in Kansas on the 1880 Census. They later moved back to Cincinnati.
