After being down for several weeks in Feb - Mar, the mailing list is running again as the underlying software was upgraded. I'm still trying to determine all the administrative things that have changed. There is talk of closing inactive lists, so if we want to keep this list alive we need to have some posts to the list. This list has 8 subscribers. There is the possibility that the list may be folded into the Stearns list - I'm just not sure at this point. Thus it seems we need to do a roll call of sorts to see who is still interested in finding lost relatives. While I've seen my ancestor listed as Harris Sterns, mostly it has been Harris Stearns who died circa 1903 in Otselic, Chenango County, NY. Off the top of my head I don't remember if he had any male heirs that produced offspring. I'm descended from one of his daughters and thus my Stearns line ends with him. I have traced his line back to the 1600s I believe it was in Massachusetts. Tim Stowell Chattanooga
