Hi all, I'm new here. I'm looking for info on Orren (Orrin, Oren, Orin) Stephens. I have no idea when or where he was born, but I'm thinking 1800 or before and probably not GA. He evidently died around 1832. He is listed on the 1820 Pulaski Co., GA census with wife and 3 sons under 10. In 1830, he is on the Houston Co. census with wife, 6 sons and 2 daughters. One son, Jasper B. was born in Houston Co. about 1821. Orren had to have been in GA by 1817 because he had 2 draws in the Land Lottery of 1820. To get two draws, he had to be a resident of the state for at least 3 years. He was a fortunate drawer in the lottery, drawing Land Lot 313, Sect 27, Early Co. although I can find no evidence that he ever lived on the property or even what he did with it. This section of land is located on the present day Seminole/Decatur Co. boundery with Spring Creek running through it. Can anyone help me? Jasper B. needs a mother and grandparents.
