As I mentioned in a recent post to this list, I matched another Stephens male in DNA testing on a 25-marker test. I've now upgraded to the current maximum 37-marker test. He and I are an exact match on these 37 markers. This means that he and I share a common ancestor which is likely only several generations back. Jesse Stephens, my earliest known ancestor, is four generations before me. This other family is from Allen County, KY, and prior to that Virginia. Please see my earlier post for more specifics. Again, I would encourage all Stephens males to have genealogical DNA testing. Not only can it help identify earlier ancestors, it can also help eliminate those families NOT related. Dick Stephens
