Larry, I have a Garrett Stephens who was born in NC about 1805 depending upon which Census we follow. He and his wife Lucinda and children are in Benton Co. AR in 1850. By 1860 he is still in Benton Co. but has married Julia A. Trammel. They move on to Denton Co. TX in 1870 and then Palo Alto Co TX by 1880. We have not found him after that. I have never found any connections for him in NC, so I wondered if you might have a Garrett/Jarrot in your Stephens line. Thanks for any help you may be able to give.
