Any help on identifying any of these families would be really appreciated. I have no doubt that my Dew STEPHENS is some how related, but I am having a hard putting ANYTHING together on these listed, except for the fact that Sarah STEPHENS, d/o John STEPHENS married Ransom MEADOWS, and that there are two other STEPHENS females in the ancestry of Ransom MEADOWS. ( A Martha STEPHENS and a Wm. STEPHENS). On the 1830 census these Stevens / Stephens are listed: Montgomery County Lowndes County Abraham Stephens Edward Stephens Dew Stephens (mine) John Stephens Jr. Jon. W. Freeman & STEPHENS Moses Stephens ( Mississippi 1850 ) Pierce Stephens ( 1850 Pontotoc Co., MS) William Stephens None listed with the Stevens spelling 1840 Census Montgomery County Lowndes County James C. Stephens Dew Stephens (1850 Rankin Co., MS) James R. Stephens Pheraby (Pheby?) Stephens Richard Stephens I think all or the majority of these are from S. Carolina . I also believe that they tie into the Elisha STEPHENS of Edgefield Co., SC and later Rankin Co., MS. If anyone can shed any information or how all these families connect, I'd really appreciate any help . Thank you Phyllis
