    3. Thanks to the Stevens List for such great help. My great grandmother Angie (Angelina from her half-sister's bible), was married to Noah Woods, and lived most of married life in Christian Co., MO and Jasper Co., Mo. The birth date that I have for her is July 1862. Several have given me info on her birth. I am trying to pin down specific places and dates for her birth and for George, her brother. You see, my father's grandfather is my mothers' grandmothers' half brother. Sooooo, that makes my parents half second cousins. Well, I found somewhere that Angie and George W. Stevens father was William Stevens. Too bad that I didn't make any notes on that find. I would love to know what happened to George's children. At the time of the 1920 Jasper Co., MO census, he was living with his sister Sarah Ellen Doss Henley and the head of the house was Sarah Ellen's daughter by Mary Brittain Burris, both widowed. George's daughters were Pauline and Dorothy. In court records that a cousin (now deceased) found, Mr. Stevens, a neighbor had asked custody of the last two children of Mr. Doss after his death. That would supposedly have been William Willey and Steven. Then, by the date of G.W. Doss' death, Angie was born after his death, and then several years later, George W. Stevens was born. I believe Mr. Doss was off fighting in the war. He returned for a short time and then re-enlisted. Noah and Angie's children do not list my grandfather James Woods. If you would like to know, the spelling of my great aunts name on 1900 Christian Co., MO census, is spelled incorrectly (as we know, that happened often). It is actually Verona, not Virona, and she is named after the town of Verona. Her 93 year old daughter gave me that info. He was born after the census on September 14, 1901. As for Sarah Minerva Shull Doss Stevens Breeze, Angie's mother, she is the daughter of James Henry Shull and Mary (Polly) Jane Short. James and Mary Jane were married in Washington Co., Indiana. Mary Jane died in Benton Co., MO. Thanks for any help in finding out more about these Stevens/Stephens. My husband has Elizabeth (possibly Sarah Elizabeth) Stevens, married to a J. S. C. Ragsdale, Jan 25, 1891 in Stone Co., MO. Her father was probably Isaac and her mother Elizabeth Unknown. Lani Black sent info to me about her Henry Isaac Stevens and Elizabeth Skaggs who had a daughter also named Elizabeth, but I have limited info, and the birth dates that I presently have for my Elizabeth are different. We have tried to tie these Stevens families together, but haven't as yet. J. S. C. Ragsdale and Elizabeth's children were also all born in Stone Co., MO. Judy McDaniel
