    3. Dear Phyllis King & Shirley Schall, Thank you both so much for helping me!! You two are great! Thank you, Thank you. A Brewer family researcher gave me info about the 1860 US Census: Fairfield, Highland, Ohio - George is found here as a STEVENS... I found an article in the newspapers: The Athens Messenger Thursday Morning, July 5, 1877 VOL XXXIV - No 27 On Saturday Wm. F. Brewer, whose weight is about 250 pounds, got into a difficulty with his sister, Mrs. George STEVENS, at Zaleski, when he stabbed her with a pair of scissors, inflicting a serious wound on the left side of her neck. He was arrested on a charge of stabbing with intent to kill, and a preliminary examination resulted in his being bound over to Court to await action of the Grand Jury. As he was already under bonds to keep the peace for two years, he could not give bail in this case, and he was sent to jail. I can not find anything else about this incident - but she must have lived through it as I have her in the 1880 US Census: Zaleski, Vinton, Ohio. There are many George Stephens/Stevens and even more Stephens/Stevens that were born in Canada. I looked at your 1870 census and without a doubt Frank and George are siblings. They each took a NY>OH>IA route. I have to do the surname Barrows from NY. You'll have to go one by one They may have missed being counted on census at all. I found these 3 but haven't found a Frank Stevens in Wyoming Co., NY to go with the George and Nancy so I doubt these are yours either, but it was the only George Stevens b. 1833 I was coming up with. Sorry, I tried. They were married there 20 Nov 1853. George reports that he was born in New York, his father was born in CANADY?? and his mother was born in New York. So he was in Vinton Co., Ohio in the early 1850's... I can not find him in the 1850 census or the 1900 (he may have died by then.) I found the in the: 1870 US Census, Bloomfield, Davis, IA; Roll: M593_386, Page: 19, Image: 40 George H Stephens 1880 US Census: Zaleski, Vinton, Ohio; Roll: T9_1074 Name: George H. Stephens The 2 census and his marriage had his named spelled Stephens - that does not mean much... I believe he had a brother named FRANK, as I found him living next to George in the Iowa 1870 census. In the 1880 census there was a 10 month old nephew named JOHN C. Stephens living with George. Wish someone could connect - George and Sarah had a pile of girls and that might have been the end of line...
