    3. List... Yesterday we found three close family Stephens DNA matches in our Stephens-Stevens men's DNA testing project. These three DNA markers matches from three very different Stephens families proved that they have a very close family kinship and are from the same Stephen's lineage. These three lineages are noted below. The first lineage is that Meshack Stephens lineage from Caswell County, North Carolina; DeKalb County, Alabama; and Marion County, Tennessee. http://tinyurl.com/y3cxz6 http://tinyurl.com/y4s8dz The second lineage is that of David (or John David ?) Stephens born in VA (or SC per census) and who possibly lived in Laurens County, South Carolina until the 1820s. David was in Morgan County, Georgia in 1830, and migrated to Calhoun, Lafayette, and Pontotoc Counties, Mississippi. By 1871 apparently lived near with his son John C. Stephens in Lafayette, Mississippi where they are both buried east of the town of Oxford, Mississippi. (NO ROOTSWEB lineage found) The third lineage is that of my wife's Stephens family. Her ggggrandfather was David Stephens (b. abt 1780-1790) was in North Carolina about 1812. David Stephen's son John Stephens married Quakeress Hannah Keys in Yadkin, North Carolina and this couple settled in Hawkins County, Tennessee in 1850 with their five children. John died in 1850 and Hannah and children traveled north to the Quaker Community in White River, Randolph County, Indiana http://tinyurl.com/yjb3mg If you have, or suspect, your family has Stephens or Stevens men from one of these three lineages, please contact us.
