    3. Brenda.. Yes, my Zadock and Levi Lowe in 1840-1780 were from near Forestville, Prince Georges County, Maryland. But my the Lowes have no known connection with the Stephens-Stevens that are my wife's family. We believe the Stephens were from Virginia and settled in Orange-Guilford-Yadkin, North Carolina near the Quakers in Snow Camp, Deep Creek, and Deep River... We are currently using DNA testing of Stephens-Stevens men at FTDNA in Houston to discover her European lineage which we by legend were from Wales. The DNA test haplogroup (a deep ancestral genotype) tells us the Stephens are R1b which is concentrated in western Europe but not necessarily to Great Britain. We have found unknown kin in the Laurens, South Carolina area however our search continues for a European DNA marker match. Even though the name might have been spelled Stephens in the native country, the person taking information at time of landing might have spelled it Stevens. I find both spellings in my family history. ============================== Gain access to over two billion names including the new Immigration Collection with an Ancestry.com free trial.
