Michael Good points. I have the marriage application for Elmer Stephens & Pearl Dodd dated July 3, 1917. He lists that his father John Stephens is "dead". He states that his mother was Sarah Moles & lives in Kentucky. He also states that both parents were born in KY, of course that could be just what he thought or what he felt like putting down. My point is that according to census [1910] & this record, John Stephens must have passed away between end of April 1910 & beginning of July 1917. I need to look into seeing if there is a death certificate for John. Sarah was alive as of July 1917, but I haven't found her on the 1920 Census. Have you? Btw, if anyone needs a copy of Elmer Stephens marriage application, let me know & I'll e-mail it. LOL!!! Okay, I can't help but laugh! Sarah's info has been right here under my nose. I'm in Shelby Co.,Indiana. I knew that Elmer [my gr granfather] & one of his brothers had moved here. Don't know why I hadn't thought about that she might have also. Okay, I know where Elmer is buried & I think his brother is near him. I'll do some checking to see if Sarah is there also. I will also get to the Health Dept. to see about getting her death certificate, hopefully Monday. Btw, how you you connect to my line of Stephens?
