Bill, I decided that your Jonathan Lafayette Stephens was no where to be found in Georgia in 1900...so I expanded my search and darned if I didn't find him on the first try. He was in ALABAMA!!!! 1900 Cleburne Co, Heflen Alabama page 237 Jonathon L. Stephens b Oct 1856 age 44 m 1 time Dora L b March 1876 age 24 m 1 time mother of one/one living Dorris L Dec 1891 8 Biron G April 1895 5 Nona (?...hard to read) L Jan or June 1890 4/12 (note...the age was clearly 4 months...so the birth year should have been 1899, not 1890..a mistake on the census taker's part) Note...you should take a look at this entry for yourself and see if you can make out the name of the last child for sure...and also the occupation for J. L. It was extremely hard to read, but maybe you or someone else can decipher it. I'll look a bit more and see if I can find Dora now in 1910...probably outside of Georgia since I didn't see her in George after several hours of looking. Hope this info gives you a smile.
