Nice to see so much activity on the Stephens site. Here is my Stephens line. Barnabus Stephens b. abt 1730 married to Charity Brown. William Brown Stephens b. 1760 in Columbus Co, NC married to Elizabeth Green. Joel Stephens b. 1780 in Bladen Co, NC married to Winnifred Alford Lennon. Alfred Barnabus Stephens, Sr. b.1803 Columbus Co, NC married Susannah Powell. He had two sons, Ansel Stephens b.1823 married to Susannah Britt and Alfred Barnabus Stephens, Jr. b. 1824 married to Miriam Britt (sister to Susannah Britt and daughters of Jacob Britt, Sr and Mary Hester). Ansel had one son, Francis Stephens b.1840 in Robeson Co, NC married to Elizabeth Jane Barnes (daughter of Stephen Barnes and Isabelle Stone). Francis had children 1) Mary Norman Stephens b. 1872, 2) Henry Lee Stephens b.1874, 3) Bertha Jane Stephens b. 1881, 4) Omer Stephens b.1883, 5) Okey b. 1885, 6) Caldonia Stephens b. 1889, and 7) Dola b. 1893. All children were born in Britts TWP,Robeson Co, NC. Okey married Stella Blanche Phillips (daughter of Richard Montgomery Phillips and Mary Elizabeth McLean) having children 1) Wendell Colvert Stephens, 2) Marie Stephens, 3) Vista Grey Stephens, and 4) Carl Dixon Stephens all born in Britts TWP, Robeson Co, NC.
