My goodness, the Stephens mailing list has certainly "taken off"! I thing that is great! We have our Stephens line, starting with William (Squire Billy) Stephens III, 1806 NC-1889 Callaway County, MO pretty well documented. We would like doucumentation of the ancestors, prior to Squire Billy. If someone can help, it would be great. We have Sqire Billy's parents as William Stephens II (1775-1869) and Ellen McCubbins. William Stephens II parents: William Stephens I (1745-1829) and Unknown Franklin or Humphreys. William Stephens I parents: John Stephens (1715-1800) and Amory Peyton (1715-1740) John Stephens parents: Richard (Steevens) Stephens (b.1690) and Sarah Standiford (b. 1696) Locations are VA> NC> KY> and MO Any help appreciated...Wayne Smith, Kansas City, MO

Wayne: Do you have your line filled out enough to know if my line could fit with yours? My James D. Stephens/Stevens was born in KY about 1827-1830. He married in Morgan Co. MO. about 1847 to Sarah (possibly Reed). In the 1850 census for Morgan Co. there was a John M. Stevens, age 61, b. KY and Jacob B. Stevens, age 69, b. KY. Either could be the Father of James but I haven't found a connection yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
