Hi, I am new to this list and thought I would ask if anyone has any knowledge on one of my family members and his/her descendents. I have a Richard Cotton Stephens and his wife Jane (Butson) who married here in Cornwall, UK in 1855. They had 6 children born here in Cornwall before emigrating in around 1869. They then had another 5 children, born in Boscobel, Grant Co.Wisconsin. They lived there until 1889 and then moved to Kansas briefly, then onto South Dakota living in Springfield, Yankton & lastly Faulkton. Richard died there in 1911. The children were Charles Henry S b 1856 married and had a son Leland S. Frederick William S b 1859 married Mary and had Frank; Gladys;Hazel & Maude. Richard James S b 1860 married Maymie and had Mildred & Charlotte. Annie S b 1863 married Charles Du Lappe and had Myean & Raische. Bessie Butson S b 1865 married Frank Russell. Agnes Asenath Jane S b 1867 married Charles Walton and had Charles Henry; Harold & Lyle. Fannie C S b 1869 married Walter S Lathrop. Birdie S b 1870 not known if married. Bertha S b 1872 d 1889. Luella May S b 1874 married Henry Oscar Burgi and had Bessie & Doris. These dates and people take me to early 1900, I do have some of their descendents but not many. I know some of the male line have siblings, so I guess and hope someone is still alive today on the Stephens male line. I would be pleased to hear from anyone that can help. Hello: Does anyone have anything on Thomas Stephens and his son Zorababel? I believe Thomas is a brother of Moses Stephens. They went from Pendleton Dist. SC (1790), to Whitley Co., KY (1803), and then to Overton (1810) and Fentress Co.s, TN (1830+). While I have a line for Thomas back to VA in the 1600s. I am not very confident that is is correct and would appreciate having people look at it with a critical eye. I am researching Stevens and Stephens from these area's to see if they connect to my earliest John A (Alexander) Stephens born cir 1811 possibly Loudoun County in Va. The names of his children were; James A. John W. Mary Catherine Fanny Bette Thomas Lee Mason Martha A. E. Names that married into the family were, Myers, Lowe, Claggett, Ault, Bouic, Talbott, Rabbit, Gregg, Tritapoe, Burgess. They lived on several farms, one was Murphy Chadwell Shumate, another was the Wm Fulton Farm. Would like to find descendants of Reddick P. Stephens/Stevens b. 1805 SC married Trecy Wade. Two known sons Felix and Drury Stephens. Daughters also, one married Nobles Parents and siblings of Reddick P. Stevens. Last seen on Hot Spring Co., AR. Census living with son Felix Stephens. Good morning, I have posted before but took a sabbatical from genealogy for a while and now am back at it as they say. I am working in a line of Stephens in Venango/Clarion County area which seems to have come from down state in Pa or perhaps Maryland. The earliest I have is a Leonard Stephens in Washington Co., Maryland. I would like information prior to him, but also current generation Stephens family.
