He married Rosalia Schoester. Carl was born 1835. Arrived in US about 1881. What I know of children are, Mary ( Jodakus Laumeyer), Pauline, Clara, Paul (Bertha Rosenow), August, Robert, Carl Jr.(Louise Vollmer). Mary was born in Upper Silesa, Germany. I am from Long Prairie MN. Does any of this sound like it could be the same man?
