My Great great Grandfather came to the US in 1870 and setteled in Plymouth Massachsetts. I have traced my stephan family back to a village in Alsace -Lorriane (depending on what year you check it was either Germany or France. The village would change from one country to the other depending on which one won the war between them.The village was called Roppwiller, it is now locate less than a mile inside France about 50 miles south of Strausburg.
