I find the listing that was established by the DAR rather interesting to say the least, as Capt. John Steele, Cumberland Co., Carlisle, PA, and his son, Capt. John Steele II are buried in the Old Carlisle Cemetary, with their wives, and their graves have DAR markers on them, yet they are not included in this listing. But I would like to find out about a couple of the other John Steele's listed there-one a Capt. John Steele, buried in Randolph Co, IL. My gggrandmother was Amelia E. Steele who married Dr. Drury Stith Feild in IL. I would like to know where they met and how she got to IL. She raised Dr. Drury Stith Feild's children from his previous marriage along with the one they had. who was my great grandmother, Amelia Drury Feild.
