    1. [STEELE] Nathaniel G. Steele - could he be a son of Joseph Steele and Darcus Wilson?
    2. W. D. Smith
    3. I am just wondering if perhaps Nathaniel G. Steele was actually a COUSIN to our Steeles in White and DeKalb Counties, Tennessee??? A JOSEPH Steele married DARCUS WILSON in Sumner County, Tennessee in 1792! This name Darcus keeps popping up.. Nathaniel G. Steele's daughter, Mary, married Green L. Clark, and there was a probable relative, John E. Steele. According to Cass Johnson, who posted in on the Steele Genforum in 2003, John bought land on behalf of Green L. Clark in Butler County, KY. John had a daughter named Darcus. There is also a Darcus Steel, age 61, in the DeKalb County, TN census living near my ggg grandfather William Steele, son of John Steele and Jane Compton Steele. Also, Nathaniel had sons named Andrew and JOSEPH Steele. My great-grandfather James Lawson Steele of DeKalb County, TN had a brother, Joseph S. Steele, who lived mostly in the 8th District of Putnam County, TN, and who married Rebecca Evergreen Womack in 1907. Butler County, KY 1850: Steel, John 30 TN Nancy 26 TN Julina 7 TN Darcus 5 KY John 3 KY Martha 2 KY It would make sense to me that these folks were closely related to Joseph Steele and Darcus Wilson of Sumner County, TN. I would love to find info on this Joseph Steele/Darcus Wilson family. Thanks, Will Smith I seem to have finally caught up to Levi Bozarth Steele's family in Hamilton County, Illinois, but cannot find any marriage / burial info on any of them. Levi seems to have died around early to mid 1880, as Susan is listed as head of household. *************************************************************** "You should always do your duty in all things.
