Their patriot is Isaac Steel/Steele Sr. born bet. 1758-1763. He died 14 Oct 1842 and is buried in the Steel-Gutherie Cemetery, Perry Township, Armstrong Co. PA. His wife was Jane Barr, born about 1773. She died 4 Jan 1844. She is buried next to Isaac. There is a Revolutionary War flag marker at his grave, with an American Flag. It is not a DAR marker. I need help in finding proof of his military service. I don't know when he served. I did find a transcription, Armstrong County Applicants Annuities from the state between 1812 and 1844, as veterans of the Revolutionary War. There is an Isaac Steele listed, but I can't proof this is their Isaac. There were other Isaac's. Also for proof it cannot be something that was transcribed. I did not have this trouble with my own patriot, as I found a lot of proof, but for Isaac I have run into a brick wall. I have tried ancestry.com, etc. Can someone help me?
