I have little on my family, came to west Canada in the 1840's. Father, James Steele, Steil married Ana McNeil, lived in Pasley, Renfroshire, Scotland. James came to Canada with all his children, Ana must have been deceased, James died in 1846, his son John was my great grandfather, married Catherine Morrison and fathered 12 children of which my grandfather James Larue Steele was the oldest, Family came to Ohio in 1872. My grandfather James L. came to Lead S.D. 1st wife Emma Gregory Died in 1890, James remarried Clara L. Cook in Toledo, Ohio in 1892. My father Gordon A. Steele born in 1914 was there last of 6 children......
