I know he was born in 1832 in Ireland, was married to Caroline Haldeman and is buried in Delaware County. His son Robert M. Steele also lived in Delaware County and is buried in Matthews, Indiana. I am as far back in the family tree as I have been able to go at this point. The father of Robert Steele was a John Steele who was born in Scotland. Any information anyone might have to help me go back further would be greatly appreciated.
