My great-grandfather was William Yancy Steele and his father was William A. Steele born in VA and died in Dayton, Rhea Co, TN. I was exploring the possibility that my WY was the same person as the WY that marriage a Smalley. The Steele seemed to be up and down the Tennessee River a lot so records have appeared in Sullivan, Bradley and Rhea County a lot. If you have some further information you could share it might help in this analysis. What counties do you have records from ? Jeri
