This seems like a good time to re-enter my Steel names that I am looking for. I have a Silas Wesley Steele born 1851; Married to Susan Jeanette 'Nettie' Edwards, born March 24, 1853 in Marion County, Ohio to Wellington Edwards and Sarah McFetters. Nettie died January 31, 1944 in Tonkawa, Kay County, OK. Silas died in 1933 in Tonkawa, Kay County, OK Silas and Nettie were married February 02m 1872 in Deland, Piett County, IL. I do have information on Nettie's parents and siblings, but have hit a major snag in finding Silas' family. According to Silas' buriel information, his father's name was John Steele born in Virginia, and his mother's name was Elizabeth Lair, also born in Virginia. Silas was born in Ohio, so obviously John and Elizabeth was in Ohio in 1851. When I checked the Ohio census for that time frame, I found 26 John Steele's but none married to an Elizabeth Lair. I could certainly use any kind of help that might be out there to get over this hump. Silas and Nettie had 12 children: Tobias, Oliver, Sarah, Charles, Susan, Fred, Eva Mae(my line) Berniece, Harry, Ilsa, Iva, and Pearl. I would love to hear from anyone that might be connected or could lead me to information on this family.
