Kathryn, Yes, time frame is very important..were several John Steeles in Kentucky history. See History of Woodford County,Kentucky, by William E. Railey, pages 42-43-44---gives the following Info. Col. William Steele represented the county in the Legislature of 1792, to frame the first Constitution of Kentucky and was a member of the convention held in Frankfort in 1799. His son John who married Catharine Swann Railey in 1816, was a member of the Legislature in 1846. BIographical sketch of these Woodford Co. Pioneers goes on to mention several family relationships, marriages, and offspring. Jeanne V.
