When we were in Carlisle, Cumberland Co. PA 4 years ago I copied down the Steele's that might pertain to my family. Some did, some didn't, but here is a listing of the ones I copied down from the records and the will information. All of these are available to have copied. I have my Rev. John Steele's will, his daughter-in-law, Agnes Moore Steele (Capt. John Steele's wife). Also, in Rev. John Steele's will it describes his "Bedford Plantation" and who will take it over. So that throws another Steele in Bedford Co, but it is a relative of my John Steele, who did come from Ireland and was a Presbyterian minister. There were others listed, but I found ones I was looking for by then, and needed to get them copied. The people in the County Clerks office were extremely pleasant and helpful.
