Sherry I have 6 Hugh Steel/Steele's that I can tied into, and 2, I can't. The oldest Hugh I have was born in Greene Co OH in 1821 to John (b. Oct 1773 in PA) and Ann Miller Steel. He enlisted from Logansport IN in the Mexican war and died in 1847. Could this be a nephew? Do you know the siblings of your Hugh Steele born in 1770? Where was he in PA? When did he go to IN? My John dies in 1821 in OH, but the rest of the family are in IN by 1850--mostly in White County.
