Johnson 84, wife of the late Rev. Benjamin Wesley Johnson & a resident of Quinby, Va. died at Sentara Norfold general Hospital on Friday, Feb. 19, 1999. Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late Thomas Donley & Letha Coffield Steele. She was a member of the U.M. church & taught the young adult classes at Smith Chapel for many years. Mrs. Johnson is survived by 2 sons, David Johnson of Brevard,N.C. & Danny Johnson of Wildesboro, N.C.; 3 daughters, Jane Widgeon of Lynchburg, Va., Ruth Miles of Quinby, & Dottie Fitchett of Atlanta, Ga; 3 brothers Jommy Steel & Tommy Steel, both of Norfold, Va., & Russell Steel of Colorado; 11 gd-children & 2 gt-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Smith Chapel U.M. church, Quinby on Sun. Feb. 21, at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Salye Bowen. Int. in Wachapreague cem.
