"Dempster"--Joanne and I have been trying to examine our individual Steele families to see if we have a link. My gr-gr-grandfather, Hugh Steel (b. 1770) married Catharine Dunn in 1796-KY). They evidently (not proven) had a son Hugh Steele (b. abt. 1809; married Sarah/Sally Smith) and another son, William Henderson Steele (b. 1814; married Eliza Wilson)--9 children found, in total. With her "Henderson"-named ancestor (Hugh Henderson Steele) is seems like a coincidence worthy of some research. There was a grandson, Samuel M. (Marshall, we think) Steele, who died very young--1835-1838. Most of these people are buried in the Hebron Baptist Church Cem., in Madison (Jefferson), Indiana. Anything sound familiar?
